Piano is a record that rewards your memory. Here's the story:

For about three months, I woke up, went to the piano, and recorded. About all I could do at that time was play intervals (an interval is the amount of space between two notes). I picked an interval randomly, and I played that interval for as long as I felt like playing it, repetitively. I had no idea what I was doing. I just recorded it and went on with my day.

When I began to look at the collection of songs as a whole, I realized that when I listened to one of these pieces from start to finish, the sound of that song stuck in my mind for a long period of time afterwords. This led me to think, "Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if my memory of the previous song clashed with the introduction of a new song?"

To be properly and smugly rewarded as listener of this record, I recommend casually creating a memory of the current song as you're listening to it, and then holding that memory in your mind while the next song begins playing. Your memory of the previous song will clash with the new song. You'll have a brand new song in your ears that isn't on the record!

Piano is best listened to while drawing, painting, or engaging in any sort of craft skills. Anything where you're on your own and want to tune out the world for a bit (a theme for Double Headed Seagulls records!).
